Diana Baker Smith is an Australian artist, writer and educator based in Sydney. Her current projects focus on revisiting feminist histories through forms of performance, re-enactment and moving image. Since 2007 Diana has worked with artist led collective Barbara Cleveland to develop live performances, video installations and site responsive projects. Their work has been exhibited at the Hayward Gallery (London), the 20th Biennale of Sydney, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art (Brisbane), as well as in galleries and museums in New Zealand the UK, Seoul, the USA, Indonesia and Greece. Diana's writing has been published in a range of journals and magazines including Artlink, Realtime, Oberon, and Performance Paradigm, and she been a director and board member of Firstdraft Gallery, Quarterbred and Runway Magazine. In 2017 Diana received her PhD from UNSW Art & Design and was awarded a 6-month Australia Council residency in London. She currently works as a lecturer at UNSW Art & Design.
