2011 | Live Performance | Duration variable
House Work was a site-specific performance project that took place throughout the inner city suburbs of Redfern and Waterloo in Sydney. The project invited audiences to take part in a walking tour through artists’ homes.
Baker Smith collaborated with five households of artists, writers and performers and invited them to take notice of the various daily occurrences and ritualised activities that take place in their homes, and to consider how these activities could be presented as a performance.
Collaborating artists included Lucas Abela, Ella Barclay, Ben Corbett, Nicholas Coyle, Keg de Souza, Alice Gage, Dara Gill, James Harney, Shane Haseman, Julia Holderness, Henry Kember and Rosealee Pearson.
House Work was presented by Performance Space as part of WALK, a season of walks, promenades, marches and strolls in and around Sydney.
